NEW RELEASE | "scummy_primer.exe" Audiobook
The Planet Scumm audiobook has long been an obsessive tradition of mine. Like all things ‘Scumm, it started as a simple whim and quickly put me through a tough (but educational) ringer of labor. Much like the evolution of the magazine itself, the audible editions have grown in every way since I released the first one two and a half years ago. My capacity for spoken word production has grown considerably over the course of making the five or so hours of audible content we’ve released thus far on our bandcamp. I’m pleased as punch to now offer my best-yet production of Planet Scumm stories for SCUMMY_PRIMER.EXE. [And no, this file is not executable.]
This new collection of audible fiction celebrates our first anthology, EVERYTHING! VOLUME 1. We’ve picked six stories from our early days that span the breadth of our aesthetic in one handy collection. These stories are re-recorded, re-produced, re-soundtracked, re-EVERYTHINGed to make them sound as entertaining and thought-provoking as the authors that wrote them.
Thanks to Jack Holland of The Dutch Tulips and the poet Andrew Chenevert for their invaluable contributions to our original score. As well as Andrew Chenevert, M. Raoulee, and Troy Lamb for adding their reading voices to break up the monotony of my own.
Give it a listen now or download it for free on our bandcamp.
